Many people are not aware that there are two types of the herpes virus. The first one is called the Herpes Simplex Type 1; the second is called the Herpes Simplex Type 2.

The first type is the one responsible for oral herpes and which others are more commonly aware of as cold sores. On the other hand, Herpes Simplex Type 2 is the one responsible for genital herpes and this is the one considered as the sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Signs of herpes will not be seen immediately most especially when a person was exposed to it directly. When a person got exposed to someone with the disease directly he/she will see the signs of herpes from two to twenty days. The outbreak of herpes is the worst part about the disease known as herpes but the good thing about it is that a close to 60% of those who have this disease do not even notice it.

This means that the signs of herpes will not be felt or noticed because of the extreme mildness of the outbreak. Even though the outbreak of herpes is considered as mild, one should still be careful because it was known that even without the signs of herpes in a person, he/she can still pass it on to his/her sexual partner.

Most commonly, people having red and sensitive skin that acquires blisters or sores are more often than not experiencing herpes. This is because this is the most common symptom out of all the many signs of herpes. Usually, these blisters and sores develop in the area surrounding the genitalia.

Although for women, sometimes these blisters and sores grow inside the vagina. There are other signs of herpes that many people are also experiencing and these are the following: swollen glands in the groin, fever, aching muscles and head, and even lower back pain. Women are really affected when they are experiencing the signs of herpes because they have a hard time urinating and they experience vaginal pain with discharge.

Obviously, the symptoms of herpes for men and women are really very different from each other. If you start to notice these symptoms, it is important that you right away see a doctor because if not, the outbreak might get worse and you might even spread it to other people without you even noticing it.

The worst part about herpes is that there isn't any found and discovered cure for it, although professionals are really trying very hard to work on it right now. They are also finding a vaccination that can be used to prevent your partner to transmit the disease to you.

Truly, the purpose of being aware to all of the symptoms of herpes is for everyone to not just know how to fight these symptoms but more importantly, to be able to prevent it from actually developing fully. After all, being aware to all of these things does not hurt anyone. More so, it is a real advantage for several people.
