Warts can be annoying, discomforting and embarrassing. It can also be frustrating because when you finally are finally successful in removing it, it can also reappear any time, so you have to be patient about it. It is also important to note that without treatment, warts can spread. Treatments for warts are however available and may vary from natural procedures to applying herbs to creams to laser treatments.

Here are some known treatments for warts that may help you deal with this skin problem. Keep in mind however that the effectiveness of the treatments for warts may vary as different warts may respond differently to treatments.

Over the counter creams and medications are available to treat warts. You can find preparations containing salicylic acid. You may find them in gel form, ointment or liquid. Salicylic acid softens and dissolves them. However, those who are diabetic are advised not to use them.

Vergo cream is also another treatment for warts that has been used for years. Other prescription gels are also used to treat especially genital warts. Although these gels and ointments are readily available and can be effective in removing warts, they often require repeated application to as warts most often recur.

Other options for the treatment of warts is taping or bandaging the warts for weeks. Some other techniques includes putting castor oil before taping it. Others use duct tape to weaken the wart. There are also over the counter pads that you can put especially on warts on your hands and those that are in the soles of your feet or those called plantar warts. When you do use pads, you have to make sure you use not too big pads to avoid irritating the surrounding areas of the warts.

Other treatments for warts also involve application of liquid nitrogen in freezing the warts. This is termed cryotherapy. Physicians usually use this method if other options are not effective in totally treating the warts. This method of eliminating warts may be effective but it can also be painful for days, although using this method will not also leave scarring.

Natural treatments for warts are also another option. It may also involve application of herbs like aloe vera juice, clove oil, lemon, raw potato or using the banana skin to treat plantar warts. To be able to conquer warts, it is also helpful to prevent the virus from thriving. If you are suffering from plantar warts, it is helpful to keep your feet dry, as the virus causing warts thrive in moist environment. You should also change your socks and shoes frequently to avoid the virus to grow in numbers. It is also important not to touch your warts. Touching your warts especially if you have cuts in your hand can easily spread it. It is also helpful to keep your body clean including your cuticles.

Some other options include laser treatments, burning, scraping off or removing it through surgery.

Other sufferers of warts also sought the help of hypnosis in dealing with warts and other skin problems.
