Sweating is a normal body function but excessive sweating can be a problem. Not only will it cause embarrassment but it can also lead to bad odor when excessive sweating is not treated. Excessive sweating can affect the hands and feet, the groins and underarms and when these areas are often moist, it can be a good place for bacteria to thrive, causing bad odor.

Treatment for this condition may vary - from creams to lotions to surgeries, but there are also available home remedies for excessive sweating that you can take at the comforts of your home to help you alleviate your condition.

Indeed, you can do something about it without worrying about side effects, risks and costs. It is important however that if you choose to do home remedies for excessive sweating, you have to make sure you are not experiencing excessive sweating overall your body as this can mean some underlying condition or disease. It is important though that you have consulted with your doctor in this case. It is important to know that hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating can be localized - those affecting only certain parts of the body, or generalized - that in which too much sweating is experienced all over the body, although this case is not quite common.

Most often, underlying conditions or diseases cause the second case. This is why it is important to consult with your doctor when you have this case. As for the first one, here are some home remedies that have been used by some of those who also suffered from focal hyperhidrosis.

Bathe daily. This will not only help cool you down but can also prevent bacteria from thriving on the moist areas of the body, causing that foul odor. It is also important to keep those areas clean and dry, especially the underarms and the feet. Good hygiene is indeed important. Make sure you wear clean socks everyday and you change shoes everyday to make sure it is dry. Also apply deodorants or antiperspirants after shower especially to the underarms and feet.

Choosing the fiber of your clothing can also be helpful. Choose fabrics that are cool and breathable. Clothing made from natural fibers can be good choices as these are usually comfortable. Loose clothing can also help to cool your body.

If your sweating is triggered by anxiety and stress, you can also opt for yoga, meditation and other means to help you manage stress and anxiety day to day.

For herbs and natural remedies, drinking tomato juice could also help you in dealing with the problem. To prevent from odors of these wet areas, potato, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and tea are also known home remedies for excessive sweating. Drinking water can also help in cooling your body and avoiding sweating. Some may have also been successful in using baking soda to fight against odors especially on the underarms.

Changing your diet can also be of big help in trying to get rid of this condition. You should avoid spicy foods as these can also increase the temperature in your body. A diet rich in zinc can also help in eliminating sweat odors.

Indeed, there are many home remedies for excessive sweating, but again, if you have heavy sweating on all parts of the body, it is always wise to check with your doctor as this may be caused by some other underlying conditions or disease.
