Heart disease is just the term that is used for the many diseases that is related to the heart. It can have many forms and not just one.

The heart disease treatment will entirely depend on the sternness of the symptoms and the condition of the person. There is quite a lot of treatment meant for the heart disease that includes surgery, meditation or change of lifestyle.

Surgery

There are many people who have to undergo a surgery as a part of the heart disease treatment. Cardiac catheterization shows a serious coronary artery disease. In this case you will have to undergo the coronary bypass surgery.

The coronary artery bypass is a surgery that takes place to reroute the blood flow around the blocked coronary arteries. During the procedure the surgeons will remove a section of a healthy blood vessel from a body part or use an artificial vessel to create a part to the heart which is call a graft.

Like this one or more grafts are performed which will depend on the number of blockage. For this heart disease treatment it will take some few months to recovery.

Self care

There are a lot of heart disease treatments but most importantly it is you who has to take care of yourself to reduce the risk of the disease.

If you are not allergic to regular or baby aspirins then, chew or shallow at least one regular or two baby aspirins. The aspirin may help in maintaining the blood flow through an artery, which is clot filled, by restraining the blood clotting.

Taking a low dose of aspirin tablets daily may do good for some people who have had suffered from heart attacks but ask your doctor first as it is not suitable for some people.

Smoking is something that you should seriously think of quitting. First of all this will lead to heart disease and secondly when you have suffered from it why continue to hurt yourself more.

The risk of getting the heart disease will reduce after three years you quit smoking. Also try to control the cholesterol level in your body. There are some people who are able to control the cholesterol level by changing their eating habits while others will require medication.

Maintain an appropriate diet and weight. Physicians have recommend people suffering from heart disease a well-balanced low-cholesterol, low-fat diet that should includes numerous servings of vegetables and fruits daily. There are also some vitamin-supplements that will also help prevent the heart disease.

Exercising regular is very important. Try doing some short frequent exercises daily. It will help you to maintain a healthy body and burn all those extra fats.

Medication

After having a heart attack, the doctors will certainly give you some medication while you are there in the hospital. They will ask you to continue it even if you have been discharge from the hospital.

Some of the medication that is often taken are Intravenous (IV) nitroglycerin which improves the blood flow, Heparin which reduces the tendency of blood clotting in the coronary arteries, Beta-blockers which will decrease the blood pressure and heart rate and Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors which will prevent repeat heart attacks.
