We all know how difficult it is to stay in shape and find time to exercise - but most especially for women with babies or small kids. There's the sleep-deprivation factor, the "I have a school project due tomorrow" factor, the "mom I'm hungry" factor, and 100's of others that just zap any free time for mom's these days.

So what are the fitness options for busy "super moms"? The fact is, the more you can take of yourself and the better you feel, the stronger you will be physically and emotionally to take on the day with the "little ones" and all of life's challenges.

Here are some quick, but effective exercise ideas - specifically designed for the busy Mom - to keep you strong and prevent future injuries that may occur with poor lifting biomechanics and poor posture.

The heavy weight of not just the baby, but also all the fun gadgets you're expected to lug around can definitely take a toll on your back. It's no surprise that our bodies need a little help to get through the day. Keeping active and fit cannot only be good for your body but can also help you spend some quality time with your kids.

Here are some ideas:

1. If you have a young baby, include him or her in your exercise routine. For example, lay your baby on a towel on the floor. Do assisted push-ups and every time you go down, give your baby a kiss. He os she will love the attention and being so close to "mommy".

2. Participate in a mini "obstacle course" in your backyard or local playground with your kids.

3. Once your kids are old enough, have them accompany you on a bike ride in a safe location.

4. Do relay races with your kids and a few of their friends.

5. For younger babies, seat them in a stroller and go for a walk (or a jog if you have a jogging stroller).

6. Jump rope, play ball, or "hide-and-seek" with your kids in the park.

Now no one said being a mom is easy, on the contrary, I think it's one of the tougher jobs out there. It's being on call 24 hours a day, so I understand that it's often hard finding time to yourself. But remember, taking care of your health will help you be a better mother to your kids. You will have more energy and feel better all around and able to better enjoy your time with them.
