Although smoking marijuana is frowned upon by many, as images of the "hippies", "free love" and the '60's comes to mind, many of the medical benefits of marijuana cannot be disputed. These benefits are long term and far reaching. Using a vaporizer to release the essential elements of the herb allows the user to experience the benefits of marijuana without any harmful side effects caused by smoking.

Marijuana affects the nervous system and causes the body to relax, while at the same time increasing alertness. When the body is relaxed, it can heal naturally. The left side of the brain controls perception and is heightened with the use of marijuana, while the right brain also functions better. The blood flow to the brain is increased as the capillaries are dilated, meaning more oxygen enters the system and thinking is clearer.

The effect of marijuana is to mellow the mind and relieve pain, while energizing the body and increasing alertness. Both contradictory effects of stimulation and relaxation come into play at the same time. The appetite is stimulated, while the system is calmed and relaxed. In today's busy society, an herb that increases relaxation and creativity and relieves worry is gaining popularity.

When using a vaporizer to inhale marijuana, the warm, misty vapor does not harm the throat, lungs, or any part of the respiratory system. Because the herb is heated to a much lower temperature than burning, no harmful carcinogens are created.

Marijuana is vaporized at a temperature of 180 to 200 degrees Celsius, whereas smoking causes the herb to burn at 230 degrees and creates harmful toxins. When hot smoke is inhaled, the throat and lungs become irritated. Smoking is the cause of many health problems such as bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, and cancer.

Vaporizing the marijuana creates a 95 % pure vapor that is smoke free and can be inhaled into the lungs. You will have a more refined and potent experience with using about thirty percent less of the herb in a vaporizer than smoking. This saves you money and the waste is minimal.

The marijuana is heated to the point where the active chemical ingredients called cannabinoids, THC and CBN, are vaporized into a thin mist. This mist is held in a glass dome or balloon type bag and then inhaled through a mouthpiece that is connected to a plastic tube.

Vaporizers are easy to use. You simply plug the unit into an electrical outlet, place the herb on a small dish and turn the switch on. The temperature can be controlled with a digital electronic device so the herb is heated to the exact setting and will not be burned. After a few minutes, the herb will turn to a swirling mist that can be inhaled.

This mist is captured and can be stored temporarily so you don't have to use it right away. It can also be easily transported to another location and inhaled later.
The misty vapor is odorless so you can use your vaporizer anywhere, even in areas where smoking is not permitted. Those people near you will not suffer the effects of any second hand smoke, as vaporizers are smoke free.

Those users of marijuana who are also concerned with the medical risks associated with smoking will benefit from the use of a vaporizer. Your lungs will thank you, as vaporizers provide a safe and healthy alternative to smoking regardless of the frequency of use.
