Many people want to know how to lose ten pounds in a week for a special event or occasion. I will outline 4 tips I still use today and a few diets I've personally used to lose 10 to 15 pounds in a week. This is not something you can do all the time.

The diets I will recommend are not to be used long term. There are just quick weight loss methods. Sometimes I would even use them after the holidays to lose the weight real fast that I had gained and get me back to normal where I would resume a normal diet.

1. Set Your Goal - I know this sounds stupid but go grab a pencil and mark your date for when you need to lose the weight on your calendar. Write down your current weight and what weight you will be in a week.

2. Tape OFF Your Cupboard - No matter what diet you choose below go and make a list of all the ingredients you will need for the next week. Go and buy ALL those foods or ingredients for the next week. A big problem most people have is mixing their regular food with their diet food they will be eating. What I would do is actually designate a separate cupboard for the one weeks worth of food and actually TAPE OFF my regular cupboard so I couldn't get in and eat any of my junk or unnecessary foods.

3. Diet Choice - Your choice of diets will make a big impact on whether you can lose 10 pounds in a week. Although ALL of the diets are and can be effective there are a few factors in play. You MUST pick the diet that you think works best with your lifestyle, social schedule, food preferences and personality. For example. You don't want to pick a diet that has you drinking lemonade for 10 days when you hate lemonade. Or you wouldn't want to try the banana diet if you hate fruit! Get it?

Diets - You will need to google these diets and see if it fits your personality but I have personally used ALL of these diets except one and have had results with all of them. So choose the one you think will be easy for you and you will stick to.

3 Day Diet - allowed to eat a decent amount of food, cheap but a little hard to follow

Grapefruit Diet - very cheap, easy to follow but you don't eat much and can be hard

Master Cleanse - great results, can be very hard to stick to the strict regimen and no food

Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet - I have not tried this one but hear great things
