An endoscopic tummy tuck is a much less invasion procedure of the abdomen. It does not require as much work as a traditional one would. The benefits of having this procedure is you will not encounter as many side effects. There is less swelling, bruising and scarring. Also, it takes less time for you to recover than it would if you were having other cosmetic surgeries.

The best candidates for this kind of surgical procedure are those who have protruding stomachs, but do not require any skin to be removed. Plus, their skin should be in good form and be able to stretch. This procedure is similar to a mini tummy tuck, but this one uses an endoscope to perform the surgery. The incisions are much smaller than that of a traditional procedure of this kind.

Using an endoscope, the surgeon makes several small incisions. An endoscope is a tube that is illuminated and has a camera attached at the end of it. The incisions are normally created in the pubic bone and near the navel (belly button) areas. This minimizes the visibility of scars in the area of your abdomen.

During the endoscopic tummy tuck, the muscles in your abdomen are tightened. To close the incisions, the surgeon uses sutures. The sutures help to keep the muscles tight. The purpose of this is to make your abdomen look firm, flat and toned. To further enhance the shape of your abdomen, the surgeon may perform liposuction in addition to the surgery.

Post-surgery results may include minimal discomfort, swelling and bruising. However, the recovery time will be quicker because it is not as severe as a traditional tummy tuck procedure. You may be able to get back to your normal activities within one to two weeks. However, it is crucial to consult with your surgeon prior to resuming any activity, including exercising.

Not everyone is a candidate for this kind of cosmetic surgery. It depends on your situation as to how you look and whether or not you are healthy enough to have this procedure done. You can look for a surgeon that can cater to your specific need. It may take you speaking with several surgeons before you find one that can help you.

Even then, there is no guarantee that you will feel comfortable with them or comfortable with having the endoscopic tummy tuck. Get a second opinion so that you can get more insight on this surgery. Also, check the credentials of the surgeon. Make sure that they are board certified. Find out how many times they have done this kind of surgery. If they perform them on a regular basis, more than likely, the surgery will be successful and there will be minimal complications.
