(1) Work on having a good posture

Surely, if you slouch, your belly will also bulge out. Always maintain a good posture whether you are standing, sitting or walking. One simple way to check your posture is to stand straight with your back on the wall and the back of your shoulders touching the wall. If you already have fats in your belly, you must work first on burning those fats before doing those abdominal exercises intended to tone your abs.

Probably the simplest and easiest cardio exercise that you can do at home or on the way to your office is walking. Making a little change in your lifestyle can help a lot in your aim to a more beautiful abs. Spend 20 to 30 minutes each day walking. Even if you are a busy person, you can always find time to walk. Cycling is also a good cardio exercise. If you do not want a boring cardio exercise, you can also engage into some sports like swimming or tennis. As mentioned, ballroom dancing can also be a great cardio. Another fun option to burn calories is getting involved in boot camp exercises.

(3) Work on your diet

One important tip on how to flatten your abs is to burn more calories than what you take. That is, you have to move more, exercise more and of course, have a diet with lesser calories. Diet and exercise should go hand in hand for a healthier body. If you want to lessen your intake of calories, you may start with increasing fibrous food in your diet. You can find them in vegetables and fruits whole grain foods as well as in legumes. They do not only help in proper digestion but they also help you feel fuller for a longer time, thus avoiding cravings.

Also increase 'fat-burning foods' in your diet. They are usually fruits and vegetables that burn more calories than what they contain. Examples of these are fruits rich in Vitamin C like citrus and lemons, grapefruit and oranges.
