The majority of organ and tissue pain in the body is directly related to your spine's alignment. Chiropractic care should be considered for pain in other areas and not just for back and neck pain. The fact is, chiropractors address a wide variety of common health problems stemming from dysfunction in your spine's joints.

If your spine is healthy, you're far less likely to have chronic pain in other parts of the body. Exercise is one of the best ways to keep your spine healthy. It's important to remember that much of our pain is because of gravity's chronic downward pull on the body. This can often be the cause of painful pinched nerves.

Inversion tables can assist in reversing this compression. Inversion will most often increase the intervertebral spacing and give relief to the direct pressure point effecting the nerve. For the most complete correction, the muscles that align the pelvis and back must be equally balanced on either side. Many exercises can help in this objective.

4 Helpful Exercises:

1. Leg Thrust On All Fours - Get down as if you were going to crawl around. Push your right leg up and back and then to the left. Start out with a less aggressive workout. When you are well suited, work these muscles frequently until they are very strong.

2. Leg Thrust Standing - While standing, hold on to something sturdy such as a dresser about waist high. Tilt forward and push your leg back and up as if you are trying to kick someone that is standing to your rear. It is good to vary the position of the foot, so it is sometimes perpendicular to the ground and sometimes parallel to the ground. Make sure you do an equal number of repetitions for each leg.

3. Stair Climbing - Start small and eventually work up to a four to eight-story building as much a four times a week. These kinds of exercises work directly on the gluteus maximus, psoas muscle, and other important muscles to build strength and alleviate irritated nerve problems.

4. Swimming - This is an excellent way to get great exercise that goes easy on the joints and relaxes and strengthenes your muscular system. Your muscular system aligns and directly effects the spine. For just over 100 years now, the art and science of chiropractic has been helping people everywhere by re-aligning their spines thus removing nerve pinching. A spine free of the vertebral imbalances that cause pain is crucial for optimal health. Unexplained aches and pains are signs that the body isn't working properly. It can be a signal of interference in the nervous system from spinal imbalances. Make an appointment with a local chiropractor today if you think your chronic pain stems from an imbalance in your spine. If left untreated your symptoms will likely get worse.

Chiropractors have the skills to realign what is out of place and get you back to your old self again.
