Cigarette smoking can be a 'hard habit to break,' as a song goes, especially if you are not giving your full commitment to it and if you also lack motivation to totally wipe it off your life. If you are starting off a new and healthier life, it is but wise to opt for safe and natural ways to quit smoking.

What makes it difficult to stop smoking is that, nicotine is highly addictive that is why you have to prepare yourself with the good motivation to start with your plan of action to overcome this addiction. If you have finally decided to put an end to this habit, give your full commitment to start it until you achieve your goals. Indeed, the two things you need to have if you want to opt for natural ways to quit smoking are motivation and commitment. Without any of these two, you may find the challenge more difficult.

Put your motivation in writing. One thing that can help you achieve a goal is to put it in writing. This will help remind yourself and your subconscious to really achieve your goal. You can put it somewhere where you can see it often and can help you remind your commitment and motivation to really do it until you are successful. So if you want to stop smoking, condition your mind not to think of how it is like to be with just one puff. Resist the urge and condition your mind.

Explore cognitive behavior therapy. Cognitive behavior therapy is also one of the effective natural ways to quit smoking. It is a psychological means of overcoming a lot of issues like smoking. It has been used in overcoming depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders as well as drug abuse. What is good about this natural technique is that, it can also boost your confidence. You can also choose to do the therapy with a group who also have the same issue as yours, thus can also help you a lot in motivating yourself. One downside of this technique is that, it can be costly.

Try acupuncture. This ancient practice also makes wonders in healing the body. This includes stopping your cravings, and stopping your urge to smoke. If you want to try this option, find an expert to do it for you.

These are just some of the natural ways to quit smoking that you can start with. You just have to decide now that you really want that bad habit to end.
