- For those who have been into the habit for quite a long time, you may also find out more about nicotine patches or chewing gums just to resist that urge of lighting that cigarette.

- Find alternatives especially when you are in a situation or in a place that you would most likely be tempted to smoke. Avoiding drinking sprees and partying especially at the first steps of your program is also one of the important tips on how to quit smoking. You may want to go out and exercise, learn a new sport - something that will occupy your time and forget about sitting in that porch and lighting that cigarette. In the end, if you can sacrifice this lifestyle, you'll reap greater benefits in the end.

In any plan you have in mind in putting an end to your addiction, it would be helpful to always believe in yourself. If you fail to stop yourself once, you have to challenge yourself to learn from this failure and believe that you can reach your goals of eliminating this bad habit.
