There are quite a lot of symptoms common to us all when it comes to wrist joint pain. Knowing its causes is the first step to finding relief. With wrist pain, the first thing you will experience is a shooting or burning pain in the areas close to or inside your wrist. Often you will also have a sense of numbness which will grow worse as the day goes on. It starts as an annoying tingling sensation that is uncomfortable at first and excruciating later on.

There are a number of causes for wrist joint pain. Many are diet related others are a bit more complex in nature. Pain is subject to hand and wrist orientation. It can occur in specific hand and wrist positions while not at all in other positions. Either way this pain can cause the loss of strength making the grasping of everyday objects a major chore. Some but not all sufferers will experience wrist joint swelling as well. When that happens you will really want to have access to a quick acting relief solution.

There are many common repetitive activities that are known to affect the wrist and cause wrist damage and its joint pain. The number one cause is our many hours of typing on a computer keyboard. Doing that for long periods of time, without a break, exacerbates this condition. Other known work related causes happen in the construction industry because workers who regularly handle and use vibrating tools. Athletic activities such as playing handball and tennis will also bring about wrist suffering and its related painful conditions. Doctors call this condition Carpal tunnel syndrome. This condition can happen to anyone regardless of your general health, life style, gender, origins, ethnic derivation or your age.

Chronic wrist joint pain could be caused by other connective tissue diseases too. Many times it comes about from predisposition towards arthritis or rheumatism. Other times wrist joint pain results months or years later after suffering from a hand and wrist injury. Work or play related physical trauma often leaves deep seated yet not easily visible bruising on your wrist often from just a minor injury. You cannot risk sustaining any painful injury without proper medical care because you are never sure of the extent of the injury by just the pain you feel. It is always a good idea and very important practice, that you see a doctor after any trauma to the delicate bones in your wrist.

You see, a doctor is trained to be able to know and determine whether your wrist joint pain is caused by a bone fracture or just a simple, everyday sprain.

There are other habitual health signs and seemingly unrelated possibilities for wrist pain often related to conditions such as tendinitis and bursitis. Once you know what the real cause of you problem is you will have a better means to focus on ways of getting better. Knowing why something is happening is extremely important because dealing with the symptoms alone will not give you any long term benefit. It is to your advantage to know what alternatives can be found which can effectively help you deal with the underlying causes it you really want meaningful relief.

Simple quick ways to deal with and treating wrist joint pain is easily found in your kitchen or medicine cabinet. Using either an ice cube pack or pain relief gel can offer a quick and temporary answer until you can look into better ways to make yourself well.

A word of caution. Doctors will often prescribe antiinflammatory drugs and chemically based ointments to remedy your painful condition. These treatments will only reduce swelling and temporarily mask your pain. But beware, powerful drugs have serious health risks and adverse side effects so always use them with care and not for extended periods of time. In more serious cases doctors will recommend and use steroidal hormone drugs. One common one in use is cortisone. It is usually administered as an injection deep into your inflamed joint areas. It is a very painful procedure and this treatment may appear to be effective but could result in damage to your health, which why most doctors will only do this two or three times and then stop, even when the results seem to help for awhile. Think twice before accepting this treatment.

Most doctors will follow protocols and information provided to them by pharmaceutical companies. Before you accept any procedure, tell your doctor about when you started experiencing your wrist pain problems and your type of symptoms. But come prepared. Do some research into alternative and natural solutions too.

Doctors are trained to accurately diagnose your situation. And they are disciplined at knowing what might be a chronic or acute case by doing a lot of examinations and using X-rays to determine what may be causing your pain.

Finding what is wrong with your wrist and determining the problem is very important. But you must also be fully aware of all your choices and try to choose the least invasive way to remedy your condition. Natural, safer ways to do this may that may not be the first suggestion from your doctor because he sees things based upon his mainstream perspective. It is your life and your health. Always know upfront all of your choices before hand. Investigate all resources about joint and muscle pain remedies and learn about herbal natural supplements as well as pharmaceutical ones.
