For each and every person, eating is deemed as a very enjoyable practice but it should be regularized - this is an understatement. This observation also rings true if a certain individual is opting for sustainable weight loss because he or she is already at the brink of obesity. In order to ward off the signs and symptoms of obesity, several measures should become our mantra. Aside from making time for some rounds of physical activity for each day, we should also prioritize the practice of healthy living by means of making the right food choices. While the concept of the right food choices might be a little vague and ambiguous, this often refers to a right diet. There are many diet plans that we can follow but as far as health and wellness issues are concerned, the best diet regime is the high-fiber diet.

A high-fiber diet consists of vegetables, nuts, beans, fruits, whole wheat, bran and oats. By resorting to a high-fiber diet, health and vitality will become a reality instead of a forlorn dream that cannot materialize itself. Following this diet is not only a surefire way to be healthy and well, it is also another measure that can be taken in order to shed off those extra pounds. A high-fiber diet is easy to follow and some people are already joining the bandwagon and switching to this type of diet.

However, there are also some who tend to think that this diet may bring forth stomach qualms such as bloating, gas and constipation. But then again, we want to clarify that fibers may not be the culprit behind these conditions. Actually, there are quite a number of reasons why these digestion problems occur. Here are some of the reasons:

1. One of the reasons behind digestion troubles is swallowed air. We tend to swallow air without meaning to; and this brings forth digestion troubles such as gas, bloating and constipation. There are also some actions that we do which make us swallow air more than what is ideal. True to this point, the act of talking while eating or doing it at a fast phase also contributes as such. An odorless gas is created with nitrogen and oxygen which can be emitted by belching.

2. Over consumption of processed foods can also lead to digestion problems and the likes. This is for the reason that processed foods are usually stripped off with the important nutrients such as chromium manganese, cobalt, copper, zinc and magnesium. If these nutrients would be lacking in the body it would result in improper undigested carbohydrates. Those carbohydrates that were remained unused could provide fuel for gas production.

3. Last but the least, another reason behind gas and bloating and constipation is the poor choice of the combination of food types for one particular meal. When too many food types are combined, the digestive tract would be confused about the rate of the digestion that it should take and thus, indigestion often sets in.
