Vaporizers that are used for aromatherapy slowly disperse essential oils into the air, so they can be inhaled and benefit the body in many ways. These vaporizers are safe to use, and can be used to freshen the air or disperse natural homeopathic medicines. Essential oils are used for their mood altering, anti-bacterial, medicinal, and anti-septic properties.

Essential oils are made from plant extracts, and are pure and potent. They can be dangerous to your health if used improperly. Use only those oils that are made for aromatherapy purposes, and use them in the way they were intended. Take care to read the label before using the essential oils and do not inhale herbs that are not specifically designed for aromatherapy purposes.

Use only pure essential oils, as some brands may contain chemicals and preservatives that can be dangerous when burned or inhaled. Other brands may be thinned with additives that minimize the effectiveness of the herbal extract.

Aromatherapy is used by massage therapists, chiropractors, nurses and doctors. Many products use essential oils in their manufacture, such as mouthwashes and rubbing ointments. Essential oils are used as medicines to treat infectious diseases, manage pain, and treat anxiety and depression, and even Alzheimer's disease. Aromatherapy can be used at home or at the office to create a relaxed atmosphere, reduce anxiety, improve one's mood, and even enhance productivity by improving the clarity of thought.

You can purchase an aromatherapy vaporizer at a department store, a specialty store, or on the Internet. Accessories are available, along with replacement parts. The vaporizer is easy to use and comes with cleaning and maintenance instructions.
The cost for an aromatherapy vaporizer varies between $100 to $300 US, and various models have different warranties and features. You should not purchase a used aromatherapy vaporizer, as other oils and herbs from prior use may contaminate it. There may be trace elements of harmful drugs or chemicals present that you cannot see with the naked eye. When you put new oils in the vaporizer, the resulting combination may be harmful to your health.

Less expensive models of vaporizers are available, but often they do not come with a replacement warranty if you have any problems with the unit. Be sure the vaporizer is designed for the size of room where you will be using it, so it will deliver the maximum benefit.

An aromatherapy vaporizer releases scents into the air in a slow and relaxing way, and is more effective than a standard oil burner. The essential oil is released into the air slowly, so the effect is long lasting. Vaporizers do not burn the herbal extracts, but simply turn them into a misty vapor when the optimal temperature is reached. Thus, there is little chance of waste and the vapor is pure. You simply breathe in the resulting vapor and the effects are immediate. The medicinal ingredients enter the bloodstream through the lungs, and act more quickly than a pill or oral medicine.

Some aromatherapy vaporizer models work by using heat-activated aromatherapy pads. There are usually several heat settings to control the quality of the vapor that is released into the air. Some models feature quiet operation setting, so the vaporizer will operate with minimal noise. Aromatherapy is used by people of all ages and backgrounds as a way to relax and improve their quality of life.
