In recent years, the number of weight loss supplements available in the market has increased dramatically. The newer additions are made with herbal and organic ingredients that are said to create permanent and sustainable weight loss without the negative side-effects commonly associated with weight loss drugs and chemically formulated products.

Diet pills and other similar weight loss supplements have been around for decades. There is always a market for these products because most people are not willing to go through the more challenging method of eating a sensible diet and engaging in regular exercise. Nevertheless, we do not believe that the use of these products is the best way to achieve quality weight loss. As far as we are concerned, there is nothing better than the natural way to lose weight which is the combination of diet and exercise.

The exercise component of a weight loss program should basically be an aerobic activity such as brisk walking or jogging at least 30 minutes in duration. It may also be divided into two 15-minute sessions. This program is quite simple and dieters would find it easy to follow. When it comes to the dieting part however, things can become confusing because of the large number of diets (both good and bad) to choose from. The preponderance of fad diets adds to the confusion as these are often mistaken as being more effective than the sensible diet plans.

There are actually several good diet programs that enable individuals to lose weight and achieve an enhanced sense of health and wellness. However, the best type of diet we can recommend is the high-fiber diet. It provides dieters with the nutrients they need to stay healthy and it offers several health benefits including detoxification and cleansing, lowered risk for certain types of disorders, and weight loss. Fiber is an excellent weight loss ingredient because it flushes out excess fats, calories and cholesterol from the body.

Fiber comes in two types soluble and insoluble. Both are good for the skin and for the health although each type functions differently from the other. Food sources of fiber include fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts. Although following a high-fiber diet does not necessarily mean going vegetarian, it would certainly be advantageous for a dieter to avoid animal meat. These foods have a high fat content and they remain in the system for a long time compared to fiber-rich foods.
