If you're in the market for the best anti aging moisturizer then you need to know a few things before you buy. There's some basic stuff should know about anti aging products that may change how you look at them.

Many anti aging moisturizers as well is other common products such as skin care products contain ingredients which may not be good to your skin or your health. And on top of being potentially harmful to your skin and health they also do not work well at moisturizing. I'll give you some examples.

A very common ingredient in skin care products including moisturizers, but also found in many other products such as cosmetics, personal, body, baby and beauty products, is mineral oil. Mineral oil is actually a byproduct distillation of crude oil. It is a petrochemical product. In fact it is cheaper to buy mineral oil than it is to dispose of it.

Mineral oil is not effective and increasing moisture levels in the skin when used in anti aging moisturizers. It is intended merely to stop moisture loss by forming a thin layer of oil over the surface of the skin so that moisture cannot be lost from the skin.

It does not moisturize the skin at all.

Mineral oil also has health risks. In Material Safety Data Sheets it is described as a carcinogen and also described as being an irritant to the eyes, skin and lungs.

Propylene glycol is another example. This also works by forming an oily layer on the skin to prevent moisture loss but does not have moisturizing properties. And propylene glycol equally is linked to health risks including developmental and reproductive toxicity, cancer and is an irritant to the lungs, skin and eyes.

The best anti aging products that do not use such ingredients are natural skin care products. Natural skin care products use safe ingredients that are known to have active moisturizing properties for the skin. There are many natural ingredients that are clearly shown to be very effective at increasing moisture levels in skin, including many natural oils from fruits and nuts.

However they are much more expensive than mineral oil or propylene glycol and this reason are rarely used by the big brand mainstream skincare companies.

But there is excellent news for anyone searching for the best anti aging moisturizer. Small niche natural skin care companies, one in particular, make outstanding skin care products which moisturize effectively and which are safe to use. And often the price of their products are extremely competitive because they do not spend large amounts of money on television advertising.

So if you're looking for great skin care products such as a good anti aging moisturizer there are powerful reasons to avoid mainstream skin care products. There are very good reasons to choose natural skin care products, both for safety and effectiveness.
