The body builds up and breaks down (cleanses) largely according to food, nutrients, to which there are only two: building and cleansing. Protein and fat (meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, hard cheese, etc.) build and fuel the ovaries, uterus, hormones, ovum, sperm, fetus, etc. Too little, in the extreme, tends to reduce, thin the blood, which in turn, thins the skin, hair, nails, bones, menses, amenorrhea (little or no period), infertility, miscarriage, and or short-term pregnancy. It takes a certain amount of blood, protein and fat, to build and hold a baby. Anything less, in the extreme, creates a lack of holding. Too much can also affect fertility.

Many women tend to eat low protein, low fat (milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, beans, nuts and seeds.) and high carbohydrate (pasta, bread, salads, fruits, juices, shakes, smoothies, etc.) diets. They also tend to drink coffee. Low protein and low fat diets build less blood, reduce and slow all structure, function. Too many carbohydrates (salads, tropical fruits, juices, smoothies, shakes, cold drinks and sugar) tend to dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, reducing nutrient absorption, blood, structure and function.

Low protein, low fat and high carbohydrate diets generally benefit those suffering from excess protein and fat (high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, dysmenorrhea, warts, tumors, cancer) not those who are trying to get and stay pregnant, although too much protein and fat can form tumors, excessive tissue, interfering with conception, pregnancy

Blood, protein and fat deficiency is curable via an increase in building foods, especially red meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, hard cheese, etc. The choice of protein and fat depends on the deficiency, as severe deficiencies require red meat, animal food. The hotter middle diet, meal plan (for deficiency) is recommended, in addition to Siberian ginseng (nourishes the spleen, digestion), Evening primrose oil and black currant oil (nourish, strengthen the reproductive organs). Sesame, sunflower and pumpkin seeds help nourish seeds. Check with your doctor before making any dietary, herbal changes.

Laxative and bitter herbs (golden seal, gentian, etc.) including coffee, caffeine should be avoided, as they are cleansing, downward moving in nature, contrary to pregnancy. Pregnant women want to build fuel and hold, not cool, cleanse.

Blood, protein and fat build and fuel sperm, testosterone, erections, etc. Too little protein and fat, in the extreme, weakens, decreases fertility, sperm count, erections (premature ejaculation, impotence), etc. Too much protein and fat, in the extreme, tends to decrease blood flow to the prostate, testes increasing impotence, premature ejaculation, tumors (high protein, high fat) and or cancer. Low protein and low fat diets cool diminish sexual energy but also cleanse excessive, overbuilt energy, structure.

Case history: A long-term customer of mine had suffered several miscarriages. She was eating a macrobiotic diet (low protein. low fat and high carbohydrate). I diagnosed her condition as blood deficiency. Her diet was anemic, too little building. She did not have enough blood, protein and fat in the womb to hold her baby. I recommended red meat (best blood builder) and chicken three to four times a week or more in addition to cooked vegetables, grains, Evening Primrose Oil (sexual organs) and Siberian ginseng (strengthens digestion). I also told her to wait four months (to rebuild blood) before trying to get pregnant. She now has two healthy boys.
