Truth be told: there are so many anti aging products out there in the market and most of them come with hefty price tags.

It would also be safe to say that you have probably tried to invest on some of these hoping to regain your youthful glow. The worst thing about this entire set up is that you are probably spending your money on something that either is not working as well as you hoped for; or is not working at all.

If you really to quit wasting your money on these expensive anti aging treatments and you really want to see results, then here are some tips on how you can do so.

First things first. In order to really benefit from age defying treatments and the like, you have to stop relying on the products alone.

Treatments should only be one component that you should have. The other side of the coin belongs to healthy living.

So stop smoking, since nicotine can really age your appearance prematurely. Stop taking too many medications, since prescription drugs and other unnecessary supplements can wreak havoc with your internal system to a degree which is difficult to control on your own.

Go to the doctor and the dentist for regular check ups. Get about 15 to 30 minutes of daily exercise. Get your beauty sleep of about 8 hours or more of uninterrupted rest. Drink lots of water, and treat yourself to a weekly or monthly or even semi annual pampering at the salon.

Secondly, age defying treatments work best if you have both internal and external support.

Internal support for this matter means that you start eating right or at least, increasing your dietary needs and supplements with the appropriate foods that can help you regain your young looking skin.

Some of the best fruits and vegetables to add or increase in your meal plan are those that are rich in antioxidants such as blueberries, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, citrus fruits, cranberries, kale, prunes, raisins, spinach, strawberries and tomatoes.

You may also want to start cutting down on processed foods and go for organic produce instead; likewise on carbonated sugary soda and hard liquor. Better substitutes for the latter are green tea, fresh fruit juice and natural fruit / vegetable smoothies.

Lastly, you can make your own age defying treatment options at home. All you really need are the ready ingredients and some time to pamper yourself.

The least expensive, but so far the most relaxing method you will find is simply getting a whole lime or orange, cut it in half and soak yourself in the bathtub while you rub the fruit's pulp and juice on your skin. Take care not to get the juice in the more sensitive areas of the body such as the eyes, inside the ears, the privates and any skin with open wounds or sunburned patches.

You can also make your own home made salt baths by combining crushed sea salt (you can grind these in the blender) with 1/2 portions of powdered milk. You can rub this on your skin to help remove dead skin cells, and then rinse.

Again, be careful of the sensitive areas of the body. You can top this off by rubbing olive oil after you have showered.

Avocado masks mixed with rolled oats and milk is always a great facial refresher, but you would need to be under the mask for some 20 to 30 minutes. Pureed strawberries in honey also work the same.
