Abnormal concentration of bile acids, cholesterol and phospholipids in the bile tend to create gallstones (cholelithiasis) in the gall bladder. Seventy-five percent of gallstones are cholesterol stones.
Cholesterol is a byproduct of protein and fat digestion. Building, high protein and high fat nutrients, foods (red meat, pork, veal, wild game, chicken, cheese, pizza, lasagna, French fries, potato chips, oil, etc.), in the extreme, tend to develop stones in the gall bladder and kidneys. This is the major reason why low protein, low fat (dairy, beans, nuts, seeds) and high carbohydrate (grains, vegetables (raw, cooked), fruit) diets are often advised, in addition to bitter herbs and spices (fennel, cumin and coriander) which also help reduce, digest and eliminate excess fat, cholesterol, stones.
All blood passes through the liver. The liver stores, cleanses (removes excess cholesterol, fat, uric acid, posions, toxins, etc.) and releases the blood. Poisons, toxins are transformed into bile (digests fat), cholesterol, lecithin and other substances. Bile emulsifies, digests fat. One pint of bile per day passes into the gall bladder.
The gall bladder (pear shaped, organ 3-4" in size) is connected to the liver and small intestine. It is a located on right side of the body, behind the liver. The gall bladder stores and releases bile into small intestine (via cystic and bile ducts) that eventually passes into the feces.
High protein, high fat diets, overeating and alcohol increase the likelihood of gallstone formation. When gallstones form, they can stay and collect or move out into a duct. Gallstones that stay can inflame the gall bladder (cholecystitis) causing nausea, fever and or pain in abdomen or behind the breastbone. The urine may become tea or coffee colored. Gallstones that move out into a duct tend to cause nausea, vomiting and or pain in the right side, upper abdomen. These symptoms tend to occur after a fried or fatty meal. Gall bladder attacks mimic the pain of heart attack
The colder middle diet, meal plan (low proten, low fat amd high carbohydrate (cooked, raw) iet) recommended. Folk remedy: Drink 1 tsp each of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of apple juice or water several times during the day or drink three TB olive oil in lemon juice right before bedtime, for 1-2 nights to help cure, eliminate gallstones. Lie; sleep on your right side. Check with your doctor and research further before taking any further action.
