Lasers can be a great asset for whitening teeth. The process of teeth whitening uses peroxide bleaching compounds has become a powerful tool today for both patients and dentists. The most common ways of whitening techniques are one that is performed at a dentists place marked by professional teeth whitening treatments. The second is at-home teeth whitening wherein the individual itself uses bleaching treatments in an unsupervised way.

Both of these methods offer more or less the same whitening results however; they have critical advantages and disadvantages associated with each of them. An individual should either consult a dentist or do the necessary research in order to find which method would be best suitable for him/her.

Lasers as said is a great tool to whiten teeth. Laser bleaching helps a dentist to apply peroxide solution to the patient's teeth and then use the laser to further the whitening process. The whole procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours to finish. No further care has to be taken or tough procedures to be followed at home.

The patient's satisfaction for the whitening process using the laser bleaching technology is enormously high. However, the long-term stability of the whitened teeth depends on the habits of the individual. If the individual has habits such as using tobacco products, drinking coffee, tea, dark soft drinks, the results will obviously last for a short time. The most common problem seen that degrades the long-term viability of the whitening process is infrequent visits to the dentist. A regular professional care and consulting is very essential to sustain the whitening results for a longer duration. The dentist will also help you with selecting a range of after-care products such as whitening paste that will help you sustain white teeth.

Lasers used to whiten teeth are very safe, approved, accredited and they will not damage the enamel or any existing treatments. Hydrogen peroxide is the main component that is used in the gel used for such a type of treatment. Hydrogen peroxide is said to be used since a long time for the process of whitening of teeth. Laser whitening of teeth usually allow 15% of hydrogen peroxide that is said to be the optimum and safe limit that is applicable for all the gum types. It also helps people that may be sensitive.
