When people are doing there bench presses there are certain mistakes that they make without knowing. Bench press are a very important bodybuilding technique and in fact you can not succeed in bodybuilding if you ignore doing bench presses.

1. The first mistake many people will make is to start out doing bench press without even warming up. For your warming up session to be effective you need to reserve the first five minutes doing cardio vascular exercises. You could for instance work on the treadmill, rowing machines or the recumbent bike.

There are several benefits which come out of cardio vascular exercises which include jump stating the lungs and heart into action and also raising the body temperature. The other reason why you need to warm up is because when you warm up your flexibility is increased in the process. The secretion of synovial fluids which are used to lubricate the joints is enhanced when you warm up. When the joints are lubricated they become more flexible. When your joints are flexible you will reduce chances of getting gym injuries.

2. Never compete with one another in order to find out who can be able to perform more bench presses. This type of competition is not only unhealthy but I can prove to be very dangerous. There are very many bodybuilders who have injured themselves in the gym because of engaging in such kinds of competitions. In bodybuilding never try to impress others if it is at your own expense.

3. You should never bench pres near your upper chest area. The reason is because you could very easily injure yourself. Such kinds of bench press are also very ineffective. In you want to perform bench presses which are effective then you need to do bench press near your lower chest area.

4. You need to do some stretching exercises before doing bench presses. When you stretch out you are able to increase the flexibility of the joints hence you will be able to avoid gym injuries.

5. There are some bodybuilders who think that when they isolate there training and do bench press only so as to workout the chest muscles they will be able to reap the most benefit. This is however not true because the best form of exercise as usual compound movements are since they work out several muscles at the same time.

6. When performing bench presses you need to ensure that you maintain proper form. There are certain benefits which accrue when you train using the right techniques and form. One of the benefits of training in proper form is that you are able to reduce the chances of injuring yourself during training. Your training is also more effective in stimulating muscle growth when you are using the right techniques.

7. When you are undertaking bench press it is always advisable to have a training partner who can be able to spot you in case of anything. When you work with a training partner you will be able to avoid accidents when doing bench presses.
