Individuals who are lazy and inactive run a high risk of having health troubles in their old age. Some of the most common problems that they may suffer from are: heart attacks, joints problems such as arthritis, cancer and dementia. An active lifestyle can go a long way in ensuring that this doesn't happen. According to a survey, the UK has almost 70% of people who are facing such problems and almost 35% out of those accept that they have had an inactive lifestyle. Similar results were obtained in other countries like Australia, where 33% of its population over is sluggish and hence, less than healthy. The work load and sedentary jobs have also added to the bad lifestyles that people live, which hardly leaves any space for physical activities and a good exercise schedule.

An energetic body lessens the probability of running into health troubles. This fact has been established due to the observation that individuals who are connected with habitual physical activities are less prone to diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, diabetes and other health problems. Moreover, such people live a longer and healthier life.

Basically, a person who is fit is more energetic as well as confident; precisely the qualities that are essential to succeed in any sphere of work. Apart from that, a healthy and fit lifestyle relieves anxiety and depression thus increasing your self-worth and mental health levels. A good fitness regime, practiced regularly, instills the body with energy and a certain activeness that makes it easier for you to perform your daily tasks effectively.

Regular exercising and good eating habits are the magic mantra for remaining young and beautiful. A good mix of exercises helps you maintain a desired (as well as desirable!) body shape, as it helps in chewing up the excess calories In fact, a walking routine of just 30 minutes a day can help you power through as many as 200 calories!
Some easy-to-practice fitness ideas are:

* Avoiding the elevator whenever and wherever possible.
* Walk to the grocery store or to the nearby market instead of taking your car or hiring a cab. This way, you save money and improve your health.
* Be active, be proactive. Help around in the house if that's something you don't do regularly.

Mowing the lawn, vacuuming the sofas and looking after the kids can be great exercises in themselves.
Fitness does not mean a sculpted body; it refers to a healthy body. Maintain a good and manageable fitness routine. Mix and match your free time with outdoor activities and spending time with kids to achieve the right balance. Draw inspiration from more fit people and talk and spend time with them, if possible.

Commit yourself to 2-3 trips to the gym each week and adhere to your commitments. Eat healthy and eat well. These are some of the most easy-to-do things that you can carry out to gain a fit body. Set a realistic goal for yourself and draw out a plan to achieve it. Health cannot be bought with money and that makes it all the more dear.
