Identifying the early signs of pregnancy include more than just missing one's period. Some women notice that they experience fullness or bloating in the stomach and frequent urination in the early weeks of pregnancy. If you are eager to know whether you are pregnant, there are some signs that indicate the early days or weeks of pregnancy. However since pregnancy symptoms are not universal, some common signs are as follows:

* Breast tenderness as one of the initial signs of pregnancy - some women notice immediate breast tenderness in the first few days following conception. Immediately after conception, the principal hormones in the body such as estrogen and progesterone start to multiply rapidly which cause changes in the body. Most women who experience the symptom find it uncomfortable to wear snug fitting clothes.

* A feeling of fullness or bloating - Another other common symptom is to experience a sense of bloating, similar to the feeling that you get just before your period. One might notice that clothes around the waist fit just a little tighter and that the abdomen feels fuller than it normally does.

* Missed Periods - the most noticeable signs of pregnancy is missed periods, especially if you have had regular periods throughout. A missed period is one of the easiest ways to identify early signs of pregnancy. According to medical experts by the time you have noticed a missed period, it is likely that you are approximately three weeks pregnant since conception. When the baby -- also referred to as an embryo from the third week to the eighth week -- attaches itself to the wall of the uterus, light spotting takes place. If you notice this spotting, you might be of the opinion that your period is lighter, when in reality it is a sign of early pregnancy.

* Urination at short intervals - another common sign which indicates early pregnancy is frequent urination. You might notice that you are visiting the washroom a lot more than usual and that you constantly feel full in the early days of pregnancy. Although it is far too early for the expanding uterus to be pressing on the bladder -- as it does in the last trimester -- the real reason behind it is that, during the early stages the bladder becomes highly sensitive and irritable to internal stimuli. Moreover the rapid increase of pregnancy hormones can cause the renal pelvis and the ureters to expand leading to frequent urination.

* Morning sickness around six weeks after conception - most women experience nausea and vomiting by the sixth week of pregnancy that usually lasts till about 12 weeks of pregnancy.
