Aromatherapy has been an easy way to get relief from the common health problems we experience from day-to-day, and it includes overcoming too much stress, which affects our body, our mind and our emotions and hinders us to live a happy life.

If you want to explore the world of aromatherapy and enjoy its many benefits, you just have to learn the basics of the essential oils for aromatherapy and you don't even need to go out and go somewhere to enjoy aromatherapy. Sure, there are spas and salons that would offer this service but you can actually do it at home. You can avail of aromatherapy kits containing the essential oil fit for you and enjoy its benefits at home. You can even mix your own oils and enjoy a great variety of uses, or even put up your own aromatherapy business.

To learn some basics, here are some common uses of aromatherapy and the different essential oils that are appropriate for it.

For emotional well-being, or you want to get over with anger, anxiety, fear, irritability or you want to overcome fatigue and burnout, the essential oils that you can use are Bergamot, Chamomile, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Lemon, Frankincense and many others. Take note that there are specific essential oils good for a particular condition you want to overcome. If, for example, you are depressed and you want to seek consolation from these essential oils, Jasmine, Bergamot, Geranium, Frankincense, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang-ylang, lemon, mandarin and Clary Sage are good for you.

Some essential oils for aromatherapy also have antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties that help fight common disorders and infections. Eucalyptus for example is good for colds and in fighting sinus congestion. Chamomile is also good for skin diseases and eczema and is also a good pain reliever as well.

Tea tree oil is also popularly used for bacterial, fungal and even viral infections and is a good essential oil to enhance the immune system. It can also be used in a variety of skin condition such as acne, burns, cold sores, athlete's foot, diaper rash, blemishes, warts, dandruff and in relieving a sunburnt skin.

Of course, aside from these common uses, essential oils for aromatherapy are also useful in improving your concentration and focus. They also lift up your mood, which is helpful if you are lonely or depressed, and are also great for calming your nerves and overcoming panic and tension. Indeed, they are useful for over-all well-being.

There may be many uses for these aromatherapy oils but it is important to take note that because these oils are extracted from plant parts, there may be some people who are sensitive to some of these aromatherapy oils. To be safe in using them, avoid applying them directly to the skin. You have to also dilute them and add a carrier oil with them before putting them into use, especially if you are using them for massage.

You have to be careful and make sure also that these oils do not get in contact with your eyes, and you may also want to seek advice in using them if you are pregnant.

Being informed about the essential oils for aromatherapy and how to use them will indeed help you a lot in enjoying the benefits of this alternative healing - for your health, emotional well-being and for a happy and healthy life as well.
