There are a lot of moon books out there in the market which provide information on the moon and its phases and cycles. The moon has been, since time immemorial an object of intrigue and mystery. There is something about the moon that is otherworldly and draws man towards it, as a result of which the moon has been the subject of a large number of stories, poems and books!

However, all moon books do provide some basic information about the moon, regarding the moon's orbit, the elliptical pathway that the moon follows around the earth every month or so. Since the pathway of the moon is not a perfect circle, but rather, an ellipse, the distance of the moon from the earth varies with its position in the orbit. Moreover, the largest and smallest distance of the moon from the earth varies with each passing year!

Exploration Books - Moon books cover a wide variety of topics from moon explorations to physical and academic theories about the moon. A very popular subject for moon books is the history of exploration of the moon. An example of this book is "How Apollo Flew to the Moon", by David Woods, in which he narrates the process by which Apollo was designed, a history of the launches to the moon, how astronauts get out of the satellite and the process of walking on the moon. His book is quite comprehensive and detailed. Another book on this subject is "The First Men on the Moon: the Story of Apollo 11", written by David M. Harland. Quite obviously, this book tells us about the story of how Neil Armstrong and David Scott landed on the moon and walked on it. It gives quite a detailed overview of the Apollo 11 experience, the selection of the team members, the rigorous training they had to undergo etc.

Taking Advantage of The Moon - Moon books are also available on other topics, one of which is the utilization of the moon for our benefit. An example of this book is "Moonrush: Improving Life on Earth With The Moon's Resources", by Dennis Wingo. This book deals with the theory that the expeditions into space would benefit greatly, if there was a commercial base on the moon.

The Moon - A Colony? - Man has been for a long while toying with the idea of colonizing Mars and probably the moon. "Return to the Moon: Exploration, Enterprise and Energy in the Human Settlement of Space", written by Harrison H. Schmitt has opinions of lunar experts on why we humans should go back to the moon, what we should do there and how to go about everything once we are there. The exploration of the fascinating satellite, that is the moon is far from over, so make sure you get a few moon books to satisfy your curiosity.
Author Resource:- When you tune into the moon calendar and follow moon phases, you can live a harmonious and healthy life.

Keeping a moon phase diary will help you track the phases of moon and ensure you stay in harmony with them.
