Ever bodybuilder must know how to do grocery shopping. It's illegal for you to tell your wife or kid to pick this stuff for you as thy go to the grocery store. Men especially are not so excited about shopping as much as women are. Most but not all women have in born shopping skills and probably that's why shopping goes synonymously with women. Well here are some of the very basic shopping tips to make your shopping experience worthwhile and as much fun for you as possible.
1. Know What You Want To Buy Before Hand
You don't just walk into a grocery store without a clue of what you want to buy. That's the reason why people end up not using 3 quarters of the groceries they bought. For your shopping list, you need to keep in mind your meal plan. Make a shopping list that has the essential categories. By writing the list in terms of proteins, carbohydrates, dairy products, fruits, vegetables etc. you will very unlikely leave out anything.
2. Know How Much Money You Want To Spend
It is important to try as much as possible to stick to your budget. When you know how much money you have to spend, you can now revisit your shopping list. If your running on a tight budget then you can replacement something like fish with red meat and try to stick to the less expensive foods but which still have high quality nutritional value.
3. Shop Smart
Don't expect to shop for vegetables that you will supposedly use for the next 2 weeks! Vegetables and fruits should be bought in at most weekly consumption requirements. So if you we're planning on shopping once every month, then you need to come up with a new plan that doesn't involve you eating stale vegetables! For the dried food stuffs you can do bulk shopping. Ti not only saves money but also makes you have less baggage during the other weekly shopping trips. A much as meet can be put in a deep freezer, I don't buy meet that's meant to go beyond 2 weeks. I actually prefer to get especially fish, weekly.
4. Know Which Products Never To Pick
It is important that you should do your homework well especially when it comes to your nutritional lifestyle. There are substances that can so easily hinder you from being a productive bodybuilder as well as others which will be harmful to your health. All of them shelved in your local grocery store. Hydrogenated oil if present in a product shouldn't ever be present in your shopping cart. Artificial sweeteners are also a no go zone for any serious body builder.
5. Compare Prices With Other Stores
You might be surprised to find that the very next grocery store has lower prices or it might even have discounts or a sale. Shop around and get the cheapest store that still has the highest quality of food. Always be in the know as concerning the newest products in the market.
