The only ways you can be able determine whether you have attained progress in bodybuilding is the next morning. You have to learn to be patient as far as bodybuilding is concerned, and you need to decipher the signs of overtraining. When you over train your body will not experience a good feeling. The moment you get the horrible feeling which comes due to overtraining then I promise you that you will strive not to experience the same feeling again. A bodybuilder will experience when they over train because the nervous system is usually weakened when it experiences very high levels of stress beyond its handling capacity. This will in turn have the adverse effect of slowing down the recovery process. However you need no yourself too much because this effect is only short lived. You should not mistake the feelings of overtraining with the sensation you get when the muscles are growing.

If for example you experienced the pains of overtraining the previous workout session, you should not strive to realize the same pain the following day. If you do so, you will only be exposing yourself to unnecessary pain which is not beneficial to your muscle building progress in any way. If you want to maintain the stamina necessary to undergo intense training the next workout sessions then you need to avoid overtraining. In order to avoid overtraining you need to understand your body's full potential and don't just follow another bodybuilders training manual blindly.

There are several symptoms which you will experience when you over train, some are mild while others are quite nasty and you will need to seek medical attention. If for example you are experiencing chronic fatigue, which has extended for more than a week then you need to go for a medical check up. However you need to first try and access whether the fatigue is chronic enough to go for medical counseling. You should not assume injuries because they could be muscle tears which usually arise as a result of overtraining. The next step involves taking a diet which is very rich in proteins. Proteins are very useful in helping the recovery process of muscle tissues. The only way you can be able to up the recovery process so that you can go back to the gym is through eating right.

There are various methods you can use in order to avoid overtraining. The best approach involves increasing the variety of exercises you perform during a single workout session. You should go to a gym which has a personal trainer who can be able to advice you on the various training routines you can perform. You can also choose a gym partner who is a bit experienced with training techniques. Such a gym partner will be able to help you choose a good training regimen which includes various training routines.

As a reminder you need to remember that overtraining will not only lead to muscle fatigue but it could also cause gym injuries.
