A technique involving the condensation of vapors and the return of this condensate to the system from which it is originated is called Reflux. Used in Industrial and Laboratory distillations.

Also used in chemistry to supply energy to reactions over a long period of time. Also known as: Heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease, (GERD), reflux, or acid reflux.

Industries which utilize large scale Distillations columns and Fractionators such as Petroleum refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants and natural gas processing plants widely uses the term reflux.

Gastroesophageal reflux is also sometimes referred to as acid reflux. It is a disorder where the acid contents of the stomach flow back (reflux) into the esophagus.

The esophagus is the tube that connects the throat and stomach. However, the esophagus doesn't have a protective lining like the stomach, so the acid from gastroesophageal reflux causes the lower part of the esophagus to become inflamed and painful. This condition is called reflux esophagitis. At that time tube is pulled back until the bottom balloon comes up against the narrow valve at the top of the stomach, when it can go no further. At this point, the upper balloon is inflated, putting pressure on a length of esophagus where the bleeding veins are located.

The portion of the overhead liquid product from a distillation column or fractionators that is returned to the upper part of the column as shown in the schematic diagram of a typical industrial distillation column refers to Reflux. The down flowing reflux liquid provides cooling and condensation of the up flowing vapors thereby increasing the efficacy of the distillation column.

For a given number of theoretical plates, the better is the column's separation of lower boiling materials from higher boiling materials the more reflux is provided. Conversely, for a given desired separation, the more reflux is provided, the fewer theoretical plates are required.

It is simply more common than previously thought, and diagnostic tests have improved, making it easier to detect reflux. Also, more is now known about the potentially serious consequences of untreated reflux in babies. It is still under-recognized and under-diagnosed.

The good news is that there is a natural cure for heartburn, acid reflux and other digestive disorders. Once you learn the secret to the natural remedy for these digestive disorders you will no longer need to waste your money on medications and pills. And have a healthy life without these digestive problems.
