It seems like when people make up their mind that they want to lose weight, they want to lose weight quickly. And I guess there is nothing wrong with that, but how hard are you willing to work to see results, because that is what it is going to take...hard work and dedication to a weight loss program. You have to keep in mind that you did not gain the weight overnight and in most cases, you will not lose it quickly. But that doesn't mean that you cannot get the weight off.

It is possible to lose weight quickly. Look at the show, The Biggest Loser. Some of these people lose 50-70 pounds in their first month. Also keep in mind that they may weigh over 400 pounds, but even someone of that weight is going to have to work hard to see those numbers.

If you want to lose weight quickly, you may want to consult a dietitian and a personal trainer. These people will be able to prepare a program for you that is customized to your needs. Staying motivated is going to be the key to having quick weight loss, but it doesn't ensure a big weight loss. I have seen people work really hard and have a week with no weight loss at all or they may even gain weight. But it all balances out. The following week they are usually rewarded with a larger than average weight loss.

The single best thing you can do to ramp up your weight loss is burn calories by moving. The number of calories you consume does also play a big part in your weight loss. But many people think that fewer is better, but that is not always the case. You have to find that balance where you are eating few enough calories that you will lose weight, but not so few that you body will go into starvation mode and no allow you to drop any weight.

Losing weight is a game of balance, even in other parts of your life. If something else is overwhelming to you, you will have a difficult time staying focused on the task at hand...losing weight. These other issues may also cause you to eat emotionally. Losing weight should be a process that makes you healthier in all areas of your life and that may mean having to deal with some issues that are not directly related to losing weight.
