Pregnancy does a number on many women's bodies and causes them to lose confidence. One area that is affected is the breasts. Pregnancy brings many changes in size and afterwards, can leave them looking and feeling less beautiful than they were prior. Getting a breast lift is an answer to this dilemma and can help you gain your confidence back.

The formal name for a breast lift is mastoplexy. What this procedure accomplishes is raising and firming the area by removing excess skin and tightening the tissue to reshape the new breast. This is a good alternative to an actual enhancement because there is nothing being put into your body and can have a similar affect.

When you go in for your consultation, your doctor will talk to you about many things. It is very common for women who have been pregnant to want to change their bodies a bit. Your doctor will make sure that your reasoning is sound and will take you through the steps of your procedure.

When considering this procedure, it is good to wait until you are done having children. Pregnancy changes the body in many different ways and your breasts are likely to change with each one, especially if you decide to breastfeed. The size will fluctuate and if you get a mastoplexy, the results can change with future pregnancies.

The procedure is performed while under general anesthesia. There are three incisions that are the most common. The first is around the areola only. This is ideal for smaller changes. The second is around the areola and then vertically down to the crease. The third is around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease, and then horizontally along the crease. Any incisions decisions will be made by your doctor and should be discussed beforehand so that you are fully informed and comfortable.

After surgery, your results will be immediately available. Some swelling will take place, but should cease in a few weeks. You'll want to make sure that you have some assistance with your children and other responsibilities as lifting will be difficult in the few weeks after surgery. Your entire chest will be sensitive and the muscles may be sore as well.

Full recovery is usually made after about six weeks. At that point, your results should be fully visible and you will be able to get back to life one hundred percent. Your doctor will give you the official ok.

After pregnancy, the body can look entirely different and can make some women lose a lot of who they want to be. While that isn't restrained to the body, it is nice to have the confidence available from looking good. A breast lift after pregnancy is a great way to regain your confidence and to make your body exactly how it used to be.
