There are times when we feel bad about ourselves. Being treated poorly by someone else in the past or recently, or by a person's own judgment of himself will result to a low self-esteem. This may be normal but to some people, low self-esteem may be a constant companion especially those who have disabilities or illness, those who had an experience of depression, anxiety, phobias, psychosis, and delusional thinking. If you are one of these individuals who have constant episodes of low self esteem self help this would then be one of your best solutions to feel better about yourself.

Take note that having a low self-esteem will prevent you from doing what you want to do. It will also keep you from being happy, enjoying life, and working toward personal goals. Always instill in your mind that you have the right to feel good about yourself. However, you have to know that it can be difficult to feel good especially at times when you are under a lot of stress, others are treating you badly, having a lot of pressure in your work, or when you are having a hard time getting along with a family member.

Self help guide could get you through this; however, you need to pause first before trying out strategies to improve your self-esteem. You need to take note that low self-esteem may be an indication of depression, in other words, low self-esteem is a symptom of depression. Depression may also be a symptom of some other illness to make it more complicated. If your condition is very consistent but you cannot pin point the reason, then you may be having depression. If you are concerned about this, then you need to seek medical assistance and do something that will make you feel better right away.

If your feelings of low self-esteem does not belong in the same category as the one above, then you can definitely follow this guide for self-help to get you feeling better.

First thing you need to do is to pay attention to what you need and what you want. Always listen to your heart, mind, and body. For example, if your heart is telling you to go and spend some time with your friend then by all means, do it as soon as you can. If your body is telling you that you have been sitting on the couch for too long watching television, then stand up and stretch, and do something else. If your mind is telling you that you want to clean your room and the basement which you have forgotten to do, then do it. This will condition your mind and you as a person that you can do whatever you want.

Next thing is to take good care of yourself. Maybe during your childhood years you were too busy taking care of your siblings and teaching them to be good that that you have forgotten that you also have you to take care of. If you do these tips, then you will be able to feel good about yourself thereby getting rid of your low self-esteem.
