Relieving stress and being happy are practically intertwined when it comes to the activities that you can participate in that will help you achieve both of those things. If you don't feel very happy with your life, then there is a big chance that those feelings are caused by being stressed out a lot. If you don't know how to really get out of that funk, then here are a few things that you can work on to help relieve stress and keep you happy and loving life.
Keeping your mind off of the bad and focusing on the good is a key part to being a happy person. A really great way to achieve that is to find something that you love doing and actively work on getting better with that. That can mean that you might find a good hobby and work on that. Things like painting, sewing, building things, etc. All of those types of things will keep your mind off of the petty things in life and keep your mind on something enjoyable and uplifting.
Exercising really is a great way to start feeling better. A lot of people are unhappy because they don't feel good about them self on a personal level. Maybe you don't feel skinny, or muscular, or fit. By going to the gym and getting a membership or even just by running outside, you are going to start feeling better about yourself as you see that you can accomplish things. Exercise also releases endorphins, which are basically natural lifters that make you feel good inside.
Sometimes being stressed out and unhappy is caused by lack of freedom and relaxation. If you work all of the time and need a break, then take one. You deserve it. GO on vacation or even just go visit some people who you haven't seen lately like family or close friends. Sometimes taking just a little bit of time off of work is the best way to start feeling better about your life.
Lastly, you should make this next suggestion a regular thing.
Getting a massage is one of the best ways to physically release the stress in your body and mind. Stress is built up in your muscles, so going to a masseuse and getting a full body massage one a week, or even just once a month, is going to make you feel so much better about yourself and will actually physically release all of that tension.
