There are persons who experience these attacks in a frequent manner; in this case this is usually referred to as a disorder. It usually happens to people who have a family history of other mental disorders such as depression. These individuals are more prone to developing this kind of panic disorder. Panic attacks usually last between 5 to 30 minutes but in some cases, it may last longer. The symptoms for panic disorder reach its peak at around 10 minutes and slowly subside, but by then the person is already drained, tired, and disoriented.
Symptoms for panic attacks include dizziness, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, racing thoughts, nausea, a feeling of losing control, and nervousness. For normal persons panic is when there is an imminent danger but for those who are suffering from panic disorder, they will experience panic attacks even in the absence of danger.

Many people everyday have quit their jobs, ended relationships and gave up their dreams by giving in to the fears they have.
A known treatment is available right now which involves a therapy with a counsellor, this way issues will be addressed to be able to determine the reason how the panic attacks begun in the first place. This would also make the individual understand why the attacks are happening, thereby helping him and the counsellor cure the disorder.
