We have a son who is high function autistic; he appears "normal" but has limitation and problems that could be serious if left unattended. I often wonder what would happen if he were in an accident and not identified as "challenged." I wonder what the attending police officers or medical personal would do, would they think him obstinate or resisting or threatening?
Some people have diabetes, allergies or other serious medical issues that would have to be identified in the case of an accident, but what if the person is unconscious and unable to give the necessary information? Medical ID bracelets are the key to identifying problems in the case of emergencies. They identify the medical or even mental problems to attending emergency personal and allow the victim to be regarded in a profession, compassionate method. Information is key to proper help.
Kids don't always want to wear medical Id bracelets as it attracts attention to the fact that they are different. I was impressed when I recently did a little research online and found fashionable, cool, jewelry for girls, boys, men and women.
Our little nephew is only five year old. Last Sunday he ended up in the hospital and after several test and observations he was diagnoses with type 1 diabetes. This darling, little guy who is so full of life, enthusiasm and happiness had his "normal" life ripped out from under him and is now plagued with needles, pricks and severe dietary restrictions. Amazing the curves life throws at us. He is doing as well as can be expected and as children often do, he is taking it in stride. It is certainly hard on his parents though.
I was looking for something to send to him, non food related, when I ran across the web sites for fun medical id bracelets. A great idea for a little boy with a recent diagnosis. Take care and protect those you love by providing the necessary medical information in the unlikely case of an emergency. Peace of mind is always the greatest reward.
