There are a lot of reasons why college is a stressful time of your life. You don't live at homes anymore, and that means you have more responsibilities. You have to cook for yourself, clean for yourself, etc. You have a job that you have to maintain while also going to school. You have to think about internships, funding for school and doing homework for all of those classes you are taking. What a rough life. But don't worry, it's all worth it in the end. Regardless, college is stressful.

However, it doesn't always have to feel that way because there are ways to relieve that tension that you are feeling. Here are some of the best suggestions for college students, and anyone else, who lives a stress-filled life and who needs a little relaxation.

Your body and mind truly do work together in that when your mind is stressed, it is held in the muscles of your body. If you want to relieve that mind stress, you can do so by physically relieving the muscle stress that you feel. You can do this through relaxing your muscles and letting them just breathe a little. Getting an actual massage is definitely going to do the trick a lot better than anything else, but just going through a relaxation process will help as well. Lie down and think about something peaceful. Let all of your muscles tense up, and then release them. After doing this, you will feel relaxed and your muscles will be able to relax as well.

Working out is another thing that works every time. The worst part about this suggestion is that people never want to actually work out when they feel stressed. The idea of working out can make you feel even more stressed, but for sure it's not going to feel that way once you actually start doing it. If you are angry, go running. If you are stressed, go jogging. You will immediately see a change in the way you feel.

You need to get sleep as a college student. Although sleep is probably the last thing on your priority list at this point in your life, it's really important that you do get enough rest. If you don't get enough sleep, then you end up drinking too much coffee, which is great for the time it is working, but is terrible when it lets you crash. Get sleep and then you won't rely on coffee as much.
