If you look around you will find that you are surrounded with technology and gadgets that symbolizes our laziness and impatience. However, when it comes to social work profession you do not have to deal with technology and gadgets but with real people who might not be able to understand you in the very first meeting but you still have to take an initiative and take the first step towards making them friends.
There is a common misconception that social work profession is all about counseling but apart from that social work profession demands a lot of patience and tolerance level that would keep you happy and you might find that you are able to connect to other people. Many people who are helpful do not have the same level of patience and tolerance because they have always helped people on a smaller level, but if you are joining a non profit organization or any other firm that provides humanitarian services to the people than you will find that you require a great deal of patience because you will need to give the other person a lot of time to comprehend to what you are saying. Many social work professions involve helping the old people and even kids and adults who are mentall or physicall challenges or going through a difficult time in their lifes.
