Maple syrup is one of the most efficient and healthier alternative for sugar. It is prepared by reducing the clean and clear sap of maple trees. It exhibits a range of trees and the main maple producing tree is called as the Sugar Maple. This is also known as the acer saccarum known for providing highest quality sap.The trees grow up to the height of 100 feet which can also be used for producing excellent furniture items.

Some of the other important maple trees include The Red,The Silver and The Ash Leafed Maple but sugar is considered as the main maple tree. These are also used to flavor the food.

In United States and Canada, the syrups can be graded according to their color. In US,Grade A and Grade B exists and Grade A is further sub-divided into three depending upon the color in to light amber, medium amber and dark amber. The Grade B syrup is much darker than the Grade A dark amber. These grades are a measure so that one could differentiate the syrup according to the taste and the color. It nothing has to do with the quality of the maple syrup.

It exhibits a range of variations that include Vermont,Pure Maple,Organic and many more. This is named after Vermont,a state of United States which exhibits favorable conditions such as climate and the soil for the tree. These conditions add to the excellent growth of the tree making the state one of the largest producers.

The Black Maple and the Sugar Maple are favored all over as they exhibit high sugar content. As both these types of trees are found in the area, they are referred as Vermont. The syrup produced by Vermont has exceeded the set parameters of standard quality, purity and density to next level. This is because they are pure, natural and without any additives. It follows the US grading systems in respect to color and taste except in density. The Vermont syrup is a bit thick this is because it is boiled for much longer time.It contains one half and a half percent more solids as compare to the other syrups.

Organic products are safe and do not include chemicals and preservatives making them free from harmful chemicals.Organic Maple syrup is considered as one of the best and equals the certified organic products. The organic farming of syrup is under continuous watch which by the authorities. It is a certified one hence they are safe for consumption and exhibits all the nutrients, minerals and vitamins.

It is a bit difficult to find whether the maple syrup we are consuming is pure or not.Hence while buying one of it,one should take care of the types and what is it mean. This is for sure that the pure syrup is graded and sold at exaggerated price. Most of the graded syrups are widely used as they are considered as pure and high quality syrups.
