Weight is an issue that many people struggle with. Being underweight is as bad as being obese. When your health is at risk, it's a wake up call to make a change. A call to make a radical change to your lifestyle because your life depends on it.

There are others who want to gain weight in order to add some curves here and there. In Africa, an attractive woman is one who has curves that can be seen from miles away. African men like their women chunky! Whatever your reason to want to gain weight, the strategy is still the same; work at it.

I wish I could tell you that there was a healthy way to gain weight fast, truth is, it takes time. Gaining weight the healthy way requires high levels of self-discipline, dedication and most importantly, patience.

There are faster ways that can give you those extra pounds. It involves a lot of pills, injections and other concoctions. What they wont tell you as your buying these products is that the side effects may be life threatening. Why look good in less than a month and live exactly for the same period of time, less than a year.

Don't misunderstand me, there are supplements that will enhance the weight gain process, but the important thing to remember is that you are supplementing an existing healthy diet and not replacing it. Herbal supplements are especially very safe and at the same time very effective.

1. Increase Your Calorie Intake
You can increase your calories without overeating! Truth be told, most if not all people who want to gain weight eat almost all the time in large amounts. Years later, they now struggle to loose the excess weight they have gained. The key to gaining just the amount you want; is to eat right. Ensure that you only tale calories that are useful to your body and wont harm your heart. Get a variety of foods that are healthy and spice up your diet with this variety. Junk will make you fat not healthy.

2. Weight Training
Many people who hope to gain weight have the misconception that working out will only burn what in essence they are struggling to add. Working out ensures that you keep fit and that also you build muscles. Believe me you don't want to end up looking like a blob of fat. The type of weights and intensity with which you work out all depends on your goal. If your want a well toned body, then you'll need to use both light and heavy weights. On the other hand if you want a more muscular appearance, then you need to do a lot of heavy weights.

3. Don't Neglect Water
Don't eat everything else and flush it down with a cold beer, you need water. Especially now that you're working out and eating a lot, it means that your body is carrying out many processes. Waste products will definitely be a bi product. Water is thus required to remove these wastes from your body.

Be patient and results will start being visible.
