The flu is one of the most common viral infections that affect millions of people every year. The normal symptoms of the flu are commonly mistaken for the common cold such as runny or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches, weakness, loss of appetite, dry cough and sore throat. It is a highly contagious illness, so you need to take certain precautions if you have the flu such as being in isolation in your home and also closing you mouth when you are coughing or sneezing. There are a lot of remedies for flu and some you can just do it in your home. You do not necessarily need to go to a doctor when you have when you have an extremely high temperature that lasts for more than three days or if it lasts for more than a week you better go to a doctor because it might be something worse than just a flu. There are also a lot of complications of the flu such as ear infections, sinus infections and even bronchitis. Most people feel the brunt of the symptoms for a few days but there are some that feel the symptoms of the flu for weeks. The flu basically affects almost everyone but it initially starts with children and then gets passed on to adults.

The best remedies for flu is to actually just get a lot of rest and also drink a lot of fluids. Most of the time people with the flu will not feel like going to work because of the fact that the symptoms of the flu include fatigue and of course, with fever, you will definitely need to get some bed rest. If you have a headache, you need to get some sleep. Fluids are very important if you have the flu so that you can rehydrate and also replenish all the nutrients that you have lost while you have the flu. Most people do not have a great big appetite when they have the flu so they try and have some soup that is warm so that they can have something in their stomachs. Canned broth will help you thin the mucous secretions and also keep you hydrated. A cup of tea is essential so that you can actually keep your respiratory tract clean and also it help in thinning those mucous secretions that is blocking it.

There are a lot remedies for flu and you need to just be a little bit creative. You can drink a lot of tea or drink a lot of soup in order to thin those mucous secretions or you can drink a lot of juices so that you can actually replenish all the nutrients that are missing in your body in order to combat the flu.
