Body building usually starts as an adventure. Most people take up body building to find out whether they can measure up to the challenge. The spirit is usually very high during the beginning days and the body builder feels enthusiastic towards learning the ropes of the game. The training schedule and dieting regimes are obeyed without effort in these virgin days. The funny thing about body building is that it motivates the beginner to keep on working out with a very promising growth rate.

A beginner usually gains both muscle mass and strength at a phenomenal rate, probably because even the slightest of body stimulation results to voluminous growth. The body has been subjected to an active lifestyle, hitherto unprecedented, and it responds by commissioning emergency growth hormones with a similarly emergency mandate. The beginner body builder can therefore not understand why some body builders keep going to the gym and they have only minimal muscle gains to show for months of intensive training. They usually regret for having not started the training themselves a while sooner, for according to their perception, they could have won a championship trophy already.

Soon enough however, the same body builder meets challenges along the body building path and life becomes not so rosy. Muscle gains start dragging themselves, it takes more work and greater endurance to build every inch of muscle. The body has already grown used to hyperactivity; it therefore slips into a plateau. The exercise become boring, the workout schedules feel demanding and the diet becomes simply unbearable. The body building lifestyle glitters not so much as it did in the beginning months. Most beginners quit, when it comes to this stage.

Those who are left, have to amplify their training intensity if at all their growth is to be rejuvenated. With more intensity, injuries become more probable, frequency is increased, poundage amplified and reps increased. The remaining colonies of body building beginners is shifted out and the serious body builders, the king that become pros, remains.

It is therefore at this a stage of body building that perfection starts. In most cases, the stage arrives when a body builder is at the intermediate levels of body building. Body building has already taken root, it has become a lifestyle and the goals set at the beginning of the body building training, have been revised and set out in more realistic cum practical terms. The perspective from which the body builder approaches training and dieting is more focused on achieving specific results and based on sound knowledge and or experience. The program assumes a maturity that is very crucial to eventual success.

Just like a man changes after marriage, a body builder becomes more responsible in the way he or she attends to the requirement of a body building program, soon after passing this qualification stage. At this point in the life of a body builder, peer influence, momentary fancies and fictions motivation have eroded away under the pressure and strains of training. Left, is the exclusive determination and will power to be the best as far as muscle accumulation is concerned? There can be no other source of motivation, drive and staying power to overcome the challenges of a successful body building program, other than personal commitment, determination and resolute persistence.

When these key ingredients of training are mastered, the body builder hits a point of perfection; his or her program touches the tarmac towards body building glory.
