Ear ringing is not a very pleasant experience. It can hinder you to do your normal activities each day. It can also prevent you from doing your tasks affecting your daily life in a great way. Ear ringing can be experienced in just one ear and in some instances both ears may be affected. Sudden ringing on your ears is also commonly called as tinnitus. This condition affects every one regardless of whether you are a boy or a girl. It is a fact that almost every body has experienced this condition at least once in their lives that could last as short as a few minutes while other people suffer for longer periods. It is important to identify the ear ringing cause so that appropriate steps are taken to resolve it.

Sudden ear ringing prove to be a stressful undertaking to some people since it affects their normal activities every time it happens to them. In fact, a lot of people are not able to follow their normal sleeping habits when they are suffering from it since it disturbs them even during at night. There are many possible reasons why an individual suffers sudden ear ringing.

It might be an indication that you have an ear problem or infection and it could be a sign of a more serious health condition that you need to take care of. In most cases though the ringing is not permanent, some would last for a few minutes while others may take up to a couple of days before it goes away. One possible cause of ear ringing is wax or dirt buildup in your ear canal. You should take note that it is quite dangerous to take the dirt out if there is substantial buildup of wax in your ear canal. However, you can actually get an over the counter wash from your local drugstore that will help you safely and gently clean your ear canal. If it does not remove the buzzing sound then it is possible that you are experiencing it due to ear infection.

You should know that there are certain medications that can cause this in varying degrees. Ear ringing caused by these drugs can lead to a serious condition of hearing loss which is sometimes called as permanent tinnitus. Medicines such as ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen sodium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, certain kinds of antibiotics, and oral contraceptives taken in large doses can trigger the ear ringing condition. Medications for digestive problems taken in high doses and even certain drugs for ear infection can contribute to tinnitus therefore it is always best that you seek a medical practitioner's advice first.

If you experience tinnitus, it is best that you go to an ear specialist immediately so that he can help you indentify the ear ringing cause. This is the best way to do it so that he can give you instructions on how to get it resolved as well as how to prevent it from recurring.
