Recently, a Florida Trend news article reported that although the unemployment rate dropped from 2006 to 2007, there were the same number of on-the-job fatalities as the previous year. Additionally, according to the article, truck drivers, who earn a mean wage of $29,266 are reportedly working in the most deadly job in the state of Florida.

The article also reported that "transportation incidents killed 136 Florida workers in 2007" and this figure does not include the number of fatalities that may have occurred as a result of these employment fatalities, which may include the fatalities of others involved in a truck accident.

Truck accidents are among the most dangerous and deadly vehicular accidents that can occur on roads and highways. Although the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported only 2,234 fatalities among transportation workers across the United States in 2007, the number of individuals affected by a truck accidens is likely much farther reaching than what occupational statistics can determine.

For example, following a fatal truck accident there is often the notion of the ripple effect that can occur among truck accident victims meaning that not only can a victim be scarred by the injuries that ensued as a result of an accident, but their lives can continue to be negatively impacted as well.

Many times a truck accident victim will suffer from long-term injuries and side effects, which may result in the loss of a job, the loss of income, the inability to pay for medical bills, which eventually could lead to debt or bankruptcy. Additionally, the burden of a truck accident victim on an individual's family and friends can be extremely intense and may require hiring a personal nurse or retrieval of costly medical procedures.

Legal Action For Truck Accidents

Individuals who have undergone a truck accident and may suffer from any of the severe side effects commonly associated with such an incident are encouraged to contact a truck accident lawyer for more details on the development of a lawsuit.

Developing a truck accident lawsuit can result in being awarded monetary means as compensation for the injuries endured by a victim. Not only do many injuries cause long-term damage and side effects, by the ripple effect can create long-lasting devastation to a truck accident victim, which is why it is necessary to produce such litigation. To learn more about developing a truck accident lawsuit, a victim can locate a truck accident law firm and receive a free legal consultation as to the details of such a legal action.
