Queen size mattresses are gaining more and more popularity these days among adults since they provide a very comfortable space for sleeping at night. When you are sleeping on a queen foam bed you do not need to worry about disturbing your partner. You will also prevent numbness in your limbs the next morning which usually is caused by having your hands and feet extending or hanging beyond the bed's borders. A mattress of this size is indeed a very good investment but there are factors you need to consider before you go out and buy one from the nearest local store.

One of the things you need to know is that a full size mattress is not the same as a queen size mattress. Queen size beds are larger and provide more space for sleeping. Aside from this you should also know that queen size beds also have different variants in sizes. The standard size though which you will mostly find in stores measure 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. If you want something bigger then you should consider buying an expanded queen size mattress which measures 66 in width and 80 inches in length. For taller persons they can always purchase California queen size mattresses which measure 60 inches by 84 inches.

In relation to the queen mattress size you should also check the size of your bed frame. If you want a California queen size mattress, your bed frame should be able to match its size. If not, then your mattress will not fit the frame of your bed. Some people opt for queen size mattresses that sit on a box set since it is a more inexpensive choice aside from providing your mattress with a good foundation.

Before you go and buy a queen sized mattress you should determine the kind of material you want your mattress to be made of. It can be made by foam, innerspring, or latex and the selection will highly depend on your preference. In general though high quality mattresses last for 25 years give or take but it will also depend on how you take care of it.

You also need to consider your budget therefore it is best that you check out the prices first before you make your final decision. Most of the time the quality of the bed goes higher as the price goes higher as well. It is a good idea then to get familiarized with a number of brands that usually manufacture high quality beds.

It is also a good practice if your search for stores that could provide warranty for your queen foam bed. Remember that the bed will cost you money therefore it is sensible for stores to put a warranty. Remember all these factors when you buy your bed so that you will be happy with your purchase for the next years or so.
