Aside from dieting, you also need to perform several weight loss exercises that can make you lose excess weight. You need not sign up for a membership in the gym because most of those exercises can actually be done at home.

The following are routines you can utilize in a so called home exercise program (the said program just refers to the combination of exercises you can perform in order to reach your goal):

1. Perform cardiovascular work outs.

A good example of a cardiovascular routine that is vital if you want to lose body fat is walking. Yes, walking actually burns calories, especially if you walk a long distance, and for a long period of time. If you are not an active person, it is highly recommended that you do some walking first before performing other activities that require more energy and stamina. For instance, instead of taking the elevator, it is a good practice for you to take the stairs, and, if you do that consistently, you'll surely lose excess weight.

Other weight loss exercises that fall under cardiovascular workouts include power walking, jogging, cycling, etc.

2. Execute resistance training.

Resistance training should also be part of the home exercise program. The work-outs that fall under this category actually cause fatigue to your muscles even when you have only performed less than fifteen repetitions. The easiest resistance-training routines recommended for newbie exercisers include the squat and the lunge. Those exercises may seem easy, but, when you do them repeatedly, they can actually aid you in your aim to lose body fat. To increase resistance to lose excess weight in a quicker manner, you can perform squats and lunges while holding weights or dumbbells.

3. Carry out stretching routines.

Stretching is also important when it comes to weight loss exercises. In fact, the said work outs should never be taken out of every home exercise program. It is even a must for you to do some stretches before you do cardiovascular work-outs, resistance training moves, and so on. Without stretching, you are more prone to injury during any activity or fitness activity. Examples of stretching activities that can also make lose body fat routines more effective include: arm stretching exercises, head/neck twisting routines, and many more.

Keep in mind that to successfully lose excess weight, you should not only go on a diet, but, also perform weight loss exercises, and, of course, consult a fitness expert so you'll have guidance. It is up to you to go to the gym and perform the work-outs there - however, if you are on a strict budget, you can just follow a home exercise program. You just have to make it a point, though, that you'll be able to correctly carry out those lose excess weight routines to avoid hurting yourself, and to ensure that those exercises will truly be effective.
