Female Sexual Arousal Disorder is very, very common, even though it is not as talked about in the open as mens loss of libido is. Even though there are millions of women who suffer from FSAD, there are actually many things that can be done to help revive a womans sex drive, and many of the most popular solutions are all natural. Here is a rundown of what every woman should know about female sexual arousal disorder.

It is important, first of all, to keep in mind that a woman who suffers from FSAD does not have any problem having an orgasm. However, what she does have trouble with is being interested in sex or being in the mood to have sex. There is a very low interest or desire to have sex, and there are many reasons. For some of those women, the problem is temporary and resolves itself, but for many more women, they cannot seem to get over the problem. It has nothing at all to do with not being attracted to their partner or not liking sex. They just do not get in the mood, plain and simple.

The problem of women who have very little desire to have sexual intercourse can be caused by either a physical or a psychological reason. Some of those reasons are anemia, alcohol abuse, using recreational drugs, certain medical conditions like dehydration or diabetes, and also PBC, or post baby coolness. The post baby coolness is the term given to the period of time when there is an extreme loss of libido that happens to almost every woman after childbirth. How long this lasts, however, varies greatly from one woman to another. This is caused by the enormous shifting back and forth and up and down in hormone levels and the dramatic changes in the body after giving birth to a child. Childbirth is a trauma to the body, and for many weeks afterwards, many women are just too exhausted to have sex, which contributes to female sexual arousal disorder. Other common causes of the disorder are low testosterone levels (yes, women have testosterone too), poor blood circulation, low nitric oxide levels, and using or abusing prescribed drugs.

The nitric oxide is an important chemical that is essential for good blood flow, which is critical to overall health and important for sex, too. Contrary to popular belief, menopause is reportedly not a cause of FSAD, and instead is reported by many women to actually increase the arousal. They report that they feel sexier and have more orgasms in the post menopausal part of their years.

Some of the psychological causes of female sexual arousal disorder are things like depression, stress, exhaustion and lack of sleep, low energy, and anxiety. Dong Quai is a herb that can restore the balance of hormones in a woman and helps regular menstruation as well. Other herbs that you can try are Satavri extract, Damiana extract, and Gingkgo biloba. Ginseng is a popular herbal treatment for female sexual arousal disorder as well.
