Spending your week working nine to five in an office environment can make some people feel uncomfortable as it is, without the added issue of suffering from the heat in a stuffy building. It is increasingly expected that offices will have air conditioning fitted to cool down their employees in the summer months, but in an uncertain financial climate, keeping cool is unlikely to be top of the agenda.
Air con is now a widely used and well received product within Britain, despite the summer heat often being short lived and disappointing. We have learned to take it for granted on our travels to warmer foreign climes, but now staying cool in our home country, particularly at work, is increasingly viewed more as a right than a privilege. Working in an environment with dehumidified air can undoubtedly have a positive effect on the productivity of employees, but the cost of purchasing and installing air conditioning in the first place has to be weighed up against any potential long term improvements in employee morale and efficiency. At the moment, with companies focused on the short term and recovering from the crash of the economy, it seems unlikely that many firms would opt to buy an AC unit for their premises.
However, there is an alternative for those companies who feel that the initial outlay involved in buying air conditioning might be beyond them at the moment. If they value the comfort and happiness of their employees, then they may want to look into hiring either fixed or portable AC units. Going down the rental route gives firms a lot more flexibility with regards to keeping their premises cool. In most offices, even with electrical equipment creating heat, there is no real need for air con for at least six months a year. By opting to rent a unit, you can just keep it when it is needed and not waste money on something that you are not even using.
Renting air conditioning also gives companies the option of extending the hire period in the event of a particularly long summer. Portable units can be moved around the office, with the option of adding extra units in the particularly stuffy months. The fixed models offer a greater all-round service throughout the entire office, but do require installation, whereas the portable models are ready to go more or less straight away. Whichever option you choose, you can be sure that AC rental can save you money while keeping your employees cool and happy.
