Have you faced the situation that you are waking up in the morning feeling like you haven't slept at all? Do you find yourself waking up feeling like you need to get some extra air? Is your spouse complaining that they are not getting any sleep due to them listening to you snore all night? All of these things can be very frustrating and for some they might choose to go see a doctor to see what help they can get.

There are several different things that a doctor can recommend to help you. If your doctor is one that likes to run tests when something is wrong he might order a sleep test. You will be hooked up to different machines through the night and it will monitor your sleep pattern, oxygen and many other things. If it is really severe then this might be an option, but for most people they might not want to try this first.

Another option that a doctor can suggest or you could even try without going to a doctor is nasal strips. You might think about nasal strips when you are sick with a cold. When you have a cold you know that the only way you are going to be able to breathe when you lay down is to open your nose passageway. That provides some relief with a cold and seems obvious with a cold. Why not use them when you are not sick and get more air while you are sleeping? That is what you are after so it makes sense to use them every night when you go to sleep. It might not completely eliminate the snoring, but it can definitely help. The best part about this option is that you don't have to spend money to see a doctor to try it and see if it works.

Another option is steam vaporizers. This is another one that many people will choose to use when they are sick, but don't think about it for other times. This can work, but it might not be the most effective. For those that are looking for an option this can be one that you can try.

Then there are some of the other obvious things that we have heard often. Reports say that those that are overweight struggle more with the snoring, restless sleeping and needing more air through the night. With exercise and losing some weight you might find that this problem naturally goes away. This might be one of the toughest choices, because losing weight can be a real struggle for people.

There are several different options, but it is worth giving something a try so that you can start getting more sleep.
