Exercise bikes are one of the most popular forms of home exercise. They allow mothers to stay home where they can watch their children and still get a work out.

They are convenient and they do not require you to take the extra time to go down to a local gym. In addition, it is easy to multitask and do something more interesting while you are working out.

Some of these bikes even come with head phone jacks that you can attach a CD player to. They are also easy to store at home.

While you watch TV you will also be able to get a great workout. The TV will effectively distract you so that you do not feel how hard you are working.

The best part about exercise bikes is that they provide an excellent cardiovascular workout. They are also a means to achieving a toned body.

Exercise bikes help you burn fat, lose weight, improve blood circulation, build muscle strength, and achieve a general level of fitness and well being. Another advantage to an exercise bike is that you do not have to venture outside when the weather is bad.

The drawback to these marvelous machines is that they are fairly expensive. As a result, you will want to make sure that you take care of it so that it performs at top conditions for as long as possible.

Your exercise bike provider should give you a warranty for the bike, but you do not want to deal with the hassle of sending it into get repaired. You will not be able to use for several days or weeks if this happens.

One of the first things you will want to do is have someone from the company come out and check the parts on your bike periodically. They should check all of the parts of the bike to make sure they are tight.

This check up should have every so often on a regular basis. This will help to parts perform properly so that the parts do not wear out as fast.

Sometimes children like to tinker with things and they may have taken off a bolt of two. Making sure the parts are present and tight will also make sure that you will be safe while you are on it.

One of the parts that should definitely be checked is the pedals. The pedals take the brunt of the force you will apply on the bike.

If the pedals are slipping you will want to have the drive belt adjusted so that it runs properly. This is something that should be checked immediately if you come across this problem.

As it is a machine that is made of metal, the bike should be kept away from all sources of moisture. Moisture will damage the electronic parts that tell you what program you are doing, how fast your heart is going, and a variety of other monitors.

Water can also damage the pulse sensors, leveling mechanisms, and many other parts of the bike. Try not to drink water while on the bike either, but after your work out, or you will risk spilling water on the bike.

In addition, dust can also clog the moving parts so that the bike does not run as well. The bike can be more effectively protected from dust if is it centered on a carpet or mat.

It is best if the bike is used indoors because the weather and elements can and will ruin an electronic bike such as this. A normal bike should be used outdoors if you want the fresh air.

The exercise bike should also only be used by people who are under the recommended weight. If someone is over the recommended weight and wants to use the bike on a regular basis, you may want to consider purchasing special quality bike that can handle the higher weight.

In addition, the electronic screen is sensitive to direct sunlight. Even if the bike is indoors, it is best if the bike is kept away from the window so that direct sunlight does not harm it.

From time to time the parts of the bike should be oiled. This will help keep the moving parts moving.

If the bike needs cleaned you can use a soft, damp cloth on it. Soaking wet cloths and chemicals should never be used as they could harm the bike.

Biking is a great way to get into shape. There are many benefits that you will enjoy.
