BPA stands for Bisphenol A. While many people have never heard of this chemical, more and more are becoming aware of its harmful effects upon all who come into contact with it. This industrial chemical is often found in various types of plastics that many people use throughout their daily lives. It can be found in baby bottles along with many other every-day plastic items. This chemical comes with many risks that are outlined below.

While Bisphenol A is most commonly found in baby bottles, it is also found in many other items that both adults and children use frequently on a daily basis. Some of the health concerns that have been related to this synthetic chemical substance are difficult to ignore. First, there have been some serious concerns regarding birth defects and reduced birth weight for newborns. That is why it is important for pregnant women to avoid BPA at all costs.

Obesity is another offender that has been linked to exposure of this harmful chemical substance. Studies have shown that obesity, though not caused in entirety, can be greatly affected and aggravated by the exposure of this substance. Obesity is a growing problem in America which means that all contributing factors should be eliminated when possible. This includes exposure to BPA. That is why it is so important to invest in BPA free products whenever possible.

Neurological issues are something else that has been linked with BPA. The issues regarding the concern for brain span ranges from fetuses to the elderly. While the brain can be adversely affected by this chemical substance, the thyroid is another area of the body that can also experience issues as a result of exposure as well. Those who struggle with thyroid function have difficulty controlling their weight which is another indicator that obesity can be caused from BPA as well.

Cancer research has found many negative results in studies pertaining to BPA exposure. BPA has been linked with breast and prostate cancer which means it should be taken very seriously. Too many people have and will be adversely affected by this dangerous substance because they are unaware of its existence and powerful side effects. The most disturbing thing about this research is the findings of Bisphenol A in baby bottles. The younger those children are exposed to this harmful substance, the harder time they will have fighting it off. That is why it is incredibly important for everyone to be aware of BPA and avoid using it at all costs.
